Recommended Text: Music Fundamentals: A Balanced Approach, by Sumy Takesue. © 2010 by Taylor & Francis/Routledge. ISBN: 0-415-99724-0. This book is NOT required for this course, but it is a good text for basic music theory. Course Description: Exposes students to basic music theory concepts, while employing music notation software to created sheet music that shows those concepts in a concise "course-pack" form. Prerequisites and Individualization: Students are assumed to have basic math, computer, email, and Internet skills. Students may suggest modifications to assignments that support projects in which they are currently involved. Schedule
